In 1975, with an initial capital of P10,000, Villar purchased two reconditioned trucks and started his sand-and-gravel business in Las Piñas.
He then went on to establish one of the largest development firms in the Southeast Asian region, the Camella & Palmera Homes. Originally low-end developers, the company has recently started selling more high end homes under the Crown Asia brand name, although criticism have been voiced in the press of many such developments in Cebu, Cagayan de Oro and Davao.
Villar has always said that OFWs are close to his heart because they have been his first clients in his real estate business. He has witnessed how important it was for OFWs to own their own house and lot as a reward for all the hard work and sacrifice they endured abroad.
The reason why he gave the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who tried their luck in a noontime game show a house and lot.
The 6 winners were Jenny Chan of Manila; Rosemarie Jaca and Hazel Vicente of Romblon; Joanne Sonbise of Parañaque; Sarah Felecio of Negros Occidental; and Marnelli Recabar of Iloilo.
Hurry, we are still giving away (not house & lot) but , BIG Discounts.
